Retro-reflective and photoluminescent identification patches with figures & letters are IFF Identification Friend or Foe patches designed to avoid friendly fire.
They are available as sheets with 64 figures (0 to 9) in black, blue, green, red, yellow or as sheets with 64 letters (A to Z) solely in black. A Velcro attachment can be included on the back of the patches.
In the dark, on the black patches, a yellow figure or letter can be seen. The patch stores light and restores it once it is immersed in the dark.
These retro-reflective and photoluminescent patches are a modern version of the elastics fitted to US Army helmets with Cat’s Eye rectangles allowing identification by allied forces.
The letters and figures and various colors can be combined to customize the identification according to the specific codes of each unit.
